Website Creation for Beginners Using Linux

This website covers aspects of creating a simple website with Html and CSS using free programs with Mint, Ubuntu, or Lubuntu Linux operating systems. Creation of a website in Windows follows the same steps and is also free, except for the cost of Windows, Antivirus, and Photoshop (if you use it). (I do not discuss Photoshop or GIMP in this tutorial.) I emphasize learning Html and CSS using Visual Studio Code editor. I have tried using BlueGriffon WYSIWYG editor but it has too many bugs. I used Dreamweaver at one time, but find it lacking and expensive. Finally I decided to learn Html and CSS to build webpages from scratch. You must know Html and CSS to repair webpages in WYSIWYG editors anyway. I have written down the steps I learned while building the webpage you are reading. You should be able to follow along, even with minimal knowledge. If you decide to publish your own website it will cost about $100 per year for hosting. If you decide to build a dedicated laptop, it will cost a total of $200 to $240 for a laptop to put the Linux operating system on. The Linux operating system is free. I use Linux because it allows me to keep multiple programs open with minimal computer hardware (4G RAM). Windows works fine too, but requires more hardware resources (8G RAM).
