Chapter 3 - Downloads Using Ubuntu GUI

3.1.1 Downloading files to Linux using the GUI is a little different from downloading with the command line. It is fairly simple, if done using the same method every time. As an example we will download a zipped folder from Google Drive.

3.1.2 Press the Download button on the file or folder on the internet. The following pop-up box will appear. Select the Save File radio button, and click OK. The file will be saved to your Downloads folder.

3.1.3 Navigate to the Downloads folder on your Linux computer and right click on the downloaded zipped file. Select Extract To. Your file explorer screen will appear. Navigate to the folder you want to download to and click on Extract.

3.1.4 The file will be unzipped, and placed in the selected folder. The window will close. Navigate to the selected folder and look for the unzipped file. That is all.
